It depends. But either way no kids.

If your dad is already baptized and has received First Communion, then he will need to attend an adult Confirmation class.

If your dad is not baptized or has not received First Communion then he should enter the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process.

Your local parish office will have more information on both journeys.

Your dad should be able to get confirmed at Easter time, along with the adult RCIA people.

Perhaps you can talk to the priest and see what might be involved, before explaining it to your dad.

Dads, especially dads over 40, can be pretty ornery about things like this.

talk with the priest at your local church, there will have to be a ceremony, however you might be able to do it without kids, I know the feeling Im 21 and still need to get confirmed

Have your dad talk to his priest and I am sure they can arrange something. He probably wont have to do it with a bunch of kids. He definitely should receive the sacrament.

Will say a prayer!
