Okay listen, I know several realtors as my sister used to do mortgages. I assure you, no thanks is necessary. The office staff does most of the work, the mortgage broker/bank also does most of the work. Every realtor I know (7 to be exact) are vicious, cut throat, backstabbing sellers that rejoice when another realtor looses a sale. You want to thank somebody, thank the loan processor that handled all the paperwork and put and kept it in order then handed it to the broker/banker. If it wasn't for them keeping things that you turn in in perfect order, the loan wouldn't go thru. I'm serious. Thank the loan people.

My husband is a Realtor for Coldwell Banker, and he does not believe you should have to purchase anything for your Realtor.
Your Realtor should be giving you a "thank you" gift. Your business deal and commission was the Realtor's "pay", so the Realtor should be thanking you. My husband always puts together a house warming package with a gift certificate.
He says you should be offended if your Realtor does not do "thank you" to you. It's customary.

If she did something for a friend in a professional capacity, you don't need anything to thank her. It's her job.
If your friend "waived" the fee, then go ahead and get her a nice gift, because she really did do something special for you. If she didn't then don't bother over appreciating her effort, cause there wasn't anything additional.
At the VERY most, send her a thank you card and invite her over to dinner. A nice idea would be to have her as your first dinner guest in the new house. But you would do that anyway... :o)

Remember, its a business deal your realtor got a 6-10% commission on the deal. A nice dinner, bottle of wine or flowers with a simple thank you is more than enough, but not even required. It never hurts to say "thanks" however.

We noticed that our Realtor had a very nice, favorite pen but it was broken (like the spring kept acting up). We bought him a new one from Staples, and he loved it. I think a pen is a good gift for just about any occasion.

If you know her on a personal level as well as professional, why not get her something nice?
A day at a spa?
Realtors work hard. She'd probably enjoy it!

If the commission and a thank you are not sufficient in your eyes, a nice bottle of wine, or gift certificate to dinner would be a great touch, if this person is a friend as well.

Isn't the commission she got thanks enough? My lord your going to start a new trend where we'll have to buy flowers and say thank you for giving them our money. If you know your realtor that well take her to dinner.

You could send her a gift basket after the escrow closes.
She's probably getting a nice commission anyhow.
A basket with a Thank you card should be sufficient.

Send a nice bouquet of mixed colorful flowers with a card attached. Tell them what you liked about their service to you and be sure to thank them. You don't have to spend very much money, $25 tops for it to be a nice gesture.
