The question is being misintrepreted.
ie - The one you love lives a million miles away, but the 'one your with' does not.
Sometimes love is not simple, because of situations.
But I'm interested in your story, opinons ;-)

It's possible the question is being misinterpteted. Everyone appears to think it relates to being rejected by 'the one you love'.
I have always thought that this saying applied to people who are in a relationship, but for whatever reason find themselves temporarily apart, eg. when one of them goes on a business trip. Therefore, if you can't be with your wife or girlfriend, then love the person who you are with, ie. someone else in the same hotel.
Don't forget, it was written when there was a different attitude to life, and everything was Love and Peace and Flower-Power.

This question is a dilemma that I've been dealing with for the last 2 months. I recently moved from Omaha, NE to Littleton, NC and I left behind someone that I loved dearly; but, I wasn't having my love reciprocated adequately...so, I left.
But, since I've moved he's been on my mind constantly. I know that he's not the best choice for me; but, I have found it difficult to get him out of my mind; but, I'm working on it.
If you find someone that's willing to treat you right, do right by that individual. True love is hard to find.

I'm sure that all of us have been in this situation. You will always love that one person, but learn from it and carry on. You don't have to love the one your with, just give it a chance. Your heart will be the one to decide on who you'll love. I have been in the situation and I only hoped for the best for the one I love and carried on. I did give the one that I was with a chance and come to find out he was one of the best of friends that I do have. I'm on another relationship and I have my heart free to him. You can love more than one person and still love the one you're with.

The one I love cheated on me repeatedly until I ran out of forgiveness. We parted & I settled for second best. We have been together for several years now &, while we will never set the Heather on fire with passion, we are comfortable with each other. As for love...well maybe a little.
But...I wouldn't recommend it & if I had my time again I would stay single.

I'm not in that situation but i was once i couldn't truly love the one i was with and the one i did love (for some important reasons) we couldn't be together ! in the end i left the one i didn't love and dropped contact with The one i loved!
and it was so hard i spent night after night crying for months but now i know i did what was right. id rather be alone than unhappy

it's a wise saying. i'm not in this situation, but i believe that if you cna't be with the one you love, then stop wasting time and move on. i believe there will be something better out there waiting for you. if the one you are with is truly good to you and good for you, then love them, don't deceive them. if you really can't love that person who is good to you who you are with, then it's best ot let them know and two of you can move on too, because only hurt will come out of the situation in the long run.. well...like myself this guy likes me but i dont like him the same way because i like this other guy who doesn't like me in the same way! (love triangle) *_* Well to be honest I'd rather be single than go with the one that loves me when i love another....it wont be fair on myself or the guy! ....But Still i love the one that doesnt seem interested in me with ALL MY HEART because 1) I haven't known much about him yet but hey i just need to spend more time with him! 2) He has a really shy personality.......u cant hold back your feelings for the one you love cause it's natural!!!

its funny really now i look back on it. i was going out with someone and they gave me this cd crosby stills and nash with the song on love the one u r with etc., i didnt think much of it until i found out he was having an affair - maybe he was trying to tell me something.
i would never compromise

Did you know
To love someone is onething, To be loved by someone is another thing but to be loved by the one you love is EVERYTHING.
So my advise find the one so you are both in love.
