On average, a total of 3 weeks and she needs to be kept away from all males for the whole time even though she won't stand for a male during the whole cycle.

normally 3 weeks (21days) in total, the main time you need to keep her away from males is from the 7th day on wards when she can become pregnant should anything get close enough to try, alough some can be as late as 10 days but better to be safe than sorry. then they normally come into season approxamalty every 6 months although some can be upto 9months between seasons( this comes down to breeding and how the dams seasons were). if your looking to spay should be done 3 months after the season when the hormone levels should be at there lowest.

They are usually in heat about 21 days and it lasts the same amount of time each time. They come in heat about every 6 months.

there are three stages to the cycle....she will have a clear discharge, a bloody discharge and then back to clear or light discharge. it is a two to three week process usually although it varies from dog to dog ,of course.

Please spay her. With every heat cycle she is forced to go through, her chances of getting cancer are increased greatly.

can last up to 2 weeks.........if you aren't going to breed her, you might get her spayed, now is a good time...if you breed her, wait until her second heat cycle.
