Me and my brother both strangely want to change our hair to a nice bright blonde; so bright it can be white! Well not white but you get me.

His hair is mousy and is just dyed black so i think his hair will manage but he keeps nagging me what to do to get it bright blonde right away!

But my hair is naturally dark brown.
People say it won't work or it would just snap out from using too much dye!

Any help please?

Thank you x x x x

I dyed my hair black and my hair stylist said that it was difficult to get black dye to bleach out of hair. If your brother bleaches his hair at home, he will, end up with splotchy hair. It happened to me when I lightened my hair. As for your hair, dark brown hair (which I have naturally too) bleaches up orangish with the at home products b/c they aren't strong enough.

Both of you guys are going to have to do some serious bleaching so if you want to go blond, let a professional do it.

Oh, and you hair will be like straw. Both times I dyed my hair blond, it was like hay. I ended up deciding it wasn't worth it. Plus, dark hair is sexier! ;-) Good luck!

Your brother would have to get his hair stripped which has to be done by a professional (and costs ALOT) OR he can wait atleast 5 months of washing his hair every day for the colour to fade enough that the bleach will work correctly.

It will be easier to lighten your hair since you havnt dyed it, you could do it your self, lightening it a few shades at a time (usually about 3-4 times) and then at the very end toning it with a toner so you can get rid of the ugly orangey tone bleached hair tends to take on. ALLTHOUGH you would be better off going to a salon also,it should cost you about $70-90 at a moderate salon, and this way your hair will look better and stay healthier than if you do it yourself.

Do not dye your hair yourself it is to dark to dye it bright blonde and you will just end up frying it. If you really want to do it go to a salon trust me on this I tried it once and it was a disaster.

Honestly the best way is to go to sally''s bueaty supply, your going to want to bleach it blonde, becuase in steps you can decide how blonde or light I have dark brown hair and when we tried store bought lightenrs and dies to get blonde nope did not work, so look to bleach the hair blond but watch out it burns the sculp if left on to long, and will leave little scabs that eventuly will heel. and its cheap to do it this way

Trust me, don't try this at home!! I've tried it myself and got terrible results. Anytime you want to go more than two shades from your current color, you'll have to go to a salon. It's not an easy process and I can almost guarantee you won't get good results at home. Either will your brother since his hair is currently black. Dyed or not, he needs to go to a professional to get it done properly!

I dyed my hair sooo many times, it started to break off. Now my hairs back to its natural state i would never do it again.
you would have to get your hair dyed professionally to get the colour you want because it could go orange. also, you'd have the nightmare of dark roots which doesn't look good.

For you go to Sally's Beauty Supplies store and ask a clerk to help

For him have him go to a salon because he just dyed it, make sure the salon knows that he just dyed it

this can be done at home.
you buy hair bleech from a hair store.
mix it up , to get your hair as light as possible.
then you put the hair dye in with the color as you wish.
or actually it might just turn the color your want
with the bleech alone.
