i know it is bad to peel split ends, but i do it anyway. its a really bad habit and sometimes i do it without even knowing that im doing it. i do it 24/7 and sometimes when im driving i try to look for some. and i have been doing this for like 4 years...haha my hair is actually really healthy and long(near my waist) people tell me to chop it off to stop my bad habit but i REFUSE! is there anything i can do do stop myself?besides cutting it? (and dont say trim because i do get it trimmed frequently) k thanks

at least break the hair clean off above the split if you must pick at it. it's a hard habit to stop (i know), but at least this won't make the split worse.

Hi Blondie:

I would at first recommend that you have a nice hair trim for your split ends. This not only helps the hair to grow, but it may cut down on you doing it yourself. Also, your habit could be something along the lines of a *tick* sydrome..Nerves...I would seek a doctor that can possibly help you with that... Good luck..

PS... if you do get your hair cut- dont see it as a loss, there are many cancer patients that would love to have a wig made from your hair.

I LOVE PEELING SPLIT ENDS!! JUST WEAR IT IN A PONY TAIL OR BETTER YET A BUN (SAYING THAT YOUR HAIR IS SO LONG)...AND THEN YOU CANT GET TO IT.
