Possibly in a small town department. The best way to find out is call local town halls and police stations. If the answer is no there you might try the military. Military Police do a lot of the same stuff as regular police. The only thing is it can't be considered discrimination if they say no because of the possibility of it impairing your ability to save other peoples lives and that it might put your life in unjustifiable jeopardy.

if i am completely deaf in one ear would anyone hire me a police officer and once i make my way up could i become a detective?

Sorry, no, you have to have certain levels of hearing in both ears to be a police officer.

It is possible ( not sure) that you may be able to be a jail guard or correctional officer

I know a guy in Winter Haven, FL who has a hearing aid in one ear. I'm not sure as to the extent of his hearing loss. But it's worth a shot.

No. There is something called a Bona Fide Occupational Requirement, hearing in both ears is one of them.

Cops can't have a very high IQ, or most states won't hire them.

i don't see why you couldn't the best thing to do is maybe apply for the job and ask beacause technically the can not discriminate because it a disablity in a sense right?
