I have mine for over a year now. I haven't used it in several months. Is it okay to use? How long can you keep it?

The "expiration date" on the side of the container is a "sell by" date after which it shouldn't be on store shelves. However, the protein stays good far longer. If the protein powder has been sealed and has remained dry it is probably just fine. I've used protein powder that is a couple of years past expiration and it didn't make me sick. So, if you are ready to start using protein again, try a single dose, wait a couple of days and if you don't feel any ill effects you can safely use it.

Usually protein has a longer life span of 1 year. Best thing to do is check the expiry date.
