take the smallest hook you can find then take a piece of bread and ball it up tight then put it therough the hook then toss it out there and wait for something to bite also hotdogs work well i have heard. bread works for small fish. if you have bass then they go for the smaller fish so try to catch a small fish then hook him with a big hook through the gill or mouth then toss him out there. it helps if hes kinda dead and not moving much. good luck!

Depends on the fish. I would try using live bait like worms or crickets. If that didn't work I would opt for a lure called a Roostertail. I catch just about everything on them. I would go with the smallest size I could find and just retrieve it real slow. At night/dusk an popper on the water might be a good idea. If nothing else works, get some liver or shrimp and put on a large hook and cast out into the water and let it sit. Great way to catch catfish.

I've mostly fished in the south, so maybe this wont help much. I have had the most luck in small waters around the corners of the dam and the wind blown side of the lake. As a general rule of thumb fish hold to the wind blown side of most waters. You can hardly go wrong with night crawlers and crickets about 1.5-2 feet below a bobber. This set up with a # 6 - #4 hook is good for trout, panfish, bass, and catfish. Hope I've helped. Good fishing and good luck!

Ask around to see if any of the local know whats in the lake , otherwise either worms or minnows will be the best bait for a veriety of species. Try both bottom fishing and fishing with a bobber and try to be patient. If you can try to fish around cover such as docks, weededges, logs,or lilly pads these attract fish.
Good Luck

Depends on the type of fish. Certain fish have certain baits or lures they will be attracted to. It would be helpful to know what kind of fish are in the lake.

If lures don't work, try something as simple as a worm on a hook with a bobber. Sit on the bank and keep an eye on the bobber, when it goes under, jerk the line in to set the hook then reel in your fish.

Lindy rigs are a great thank you to catch walleyes, yet you're smart to be arranged, they do no longer continuously artwork. stay bait has continuously been the main useful to catching walleye for me, and you mustn't have too plenty hassle making use of it. Use a jig to artwork factors and the aforementioned tranisitions between shallows and deeper waters. i might additionally propose dragging crankbaits. it fairly is as a rule a solid thank you to locate fish, and canopy somewhat some floor rapidly. the final colour for me has continuously been a Rapala hearth Tiger. Shad raps are continuously solid, and a husky jerk is high-quality besides. maximum of all, locate the hide and shape, and you will locate fish.

I would advise that you use the fatty part on a peice of cooked steak. I'm from NFLD and I have had great success experimenting with meat that people don't usually eat, like the fatty part. Weiners also worked wonders for me. Did you try flies? Just be Patient and you'll get your fish ma dear!

You're kidding - right? What type of fish. Small bass - don't try to catch those, let 'em grow. Shellcracker or bream? Use crickets.
