The Berlin wall, as well as the walls used by the Nazi to create Jewish ghettos, were created to keep people contained. They were used to keep people from fleeing an unpopular regime.

The border fence is being erected to control entry.

The company I work for requires identification for entry; are they a bunch of Nazis?

When you buy a ticket to see a movie, there is a gate restricting entry... Is this the same as the Berlin Wall?

There is a fence around my yard. Am I Hitler? No. I just want to keep the neighbor's dog from crapping in my yard.

The United States is our yard. We're just trying to keep the neighbor's dogs from crapping in our yard.

While I am not a big supporter of building the fence, I believe that the US has the right to limit illegal immigration because of the negative economic impact and the disruption of our system and values.
I think there are better ways to control immigration than a fence. Making Mexico do something about it's archaic corrupt social system would be a good start. We have invaded countries that treated their citizens with more respect than Mexico.
Mexico has the resources and the manpower to be a major economic engine in the western hemisphere. The people are hard workers, and would prefer to live and work in Mexico than immigrate to the US. There simply is not any Governmental support for that. They prefer to live the good life in Mexico City and ignore the plight of the poor in their country.

You seem to have it about rght. The Berlin wall divided a city, the border wall will make the whole border like the Rio Grande a natural border wall. We do want to keep our neighbors from crapping on our yard & stealing our lawn ornaments...

The border wall is not being used to control entry, its being used to contain undesirables in an undesirable area like a concentration camp.

I Liked this question and I Agree with you 100% BUILD THE WALL HIGH and WIDE.

The comparison is crap.

The Berlin Wall was erected to keep people from moving OUT.

The border wall is to keep people from moving IN.

Great comparision. When I first read this I actually thought you were comparing the two ideas your self. people don't realize that its national suicide to allow people to enter our country at will.
