Although the human body has three 8-hours cycles, each person has his or her own biorythm. It is believed to be better to excercise before that time, however you should try it yourself and see if it suits you.
I my self have been exercising for the last 8-9 years at after 20:00 hours, sometimes even midnight, and never had an injury. Just rest well after that, eat protein rich food and don't exagerate, do this 4 a month and see how it goes! Athletes do sometimes excercise night time, by the way.
Cheers

It wont harm you, afterall exercise as a whole is very beneficial! However, i would recommend you train either in the morning or straight from work (between 4-6pm). You see if you train to late in the evening, you might find it more difficult to get to sleep and therefore making you to tired to work/train the next day.
Hope this helps x

It's a good idea to excercise at night, as long as you can get to sleep that's all you have to worry about, once you've excercised, have a shower (or a nice hot bath) and you should get to sleep no problems. As far as I know, excercising at night has the exact same effect on the body as excercising at any other time during the day, so it can't hurt. Best of luck with the excercises, and the exams. bye

I used to skate from 7-9 or 7-10pm. I've heard it's not good to exercise before bed, but I didn't have any trouble falling asleep.

Don't exercise too late as you'll never get to sleep. Could you try stair climbing in your uni? Most of them seem to have libraries on the fourth floor or something!

Training at night is actually a pretty good idea as your body can effectively rest over night as your sleep....... just make sure you warm down.
Some might say it'll make sleeping (or getting to sleep a problem) but I find that after a gym session & a warm shower, I sleep better :O)

the only harm it will do is make it hard for you to fall asleep, exercising gives you energy and wakes you up

It will certainly make it more difficult for you to get to sleep.
