Intelligent Design is not science, nor is it a scientific theory. Niether is anything having to do with religion or the Bible. As much as creationist would like it to be it's not.
Intelligent Design is not a theory for many reasons the least of which is that it predicts nothing.
Scientific Theory:
A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.
Ok. got that?
Please stop trying to confuse the issue.

Excuse me, but most intelligent design theorists base their reasoning on interpretation of scientific data. It is purely arrogance on the part of anti-theistic evolutionists to ASSUME that the only plausible designer is based in Judeo-Christianity.

As far as intelligent design being a valid theory, it does collectively explain (without the addition of other theories, I might add) the source of the universe and life as it is observed here on earth. Evolution of Species, on the other hand, relies on mutation of genetic material, which in the case of bisexual reproduction, require considerably more time than the universe has been in existence by the most liberal accounts.

Additionally, with the passage of time, more and more of the evidence of an 'ancient' earth is being blown away by observable natural events, like Mt. St. Helens.

Christianity is the only group that takes the step of assuming knowledge of Who the Creator is. Regardless of the discussion of 'who', intelligent design is still scientifically a valid discussion.

Scientific theory is simply a GUESS. Once a theory is proven, it becomes a law, like the Law of Gravity.

Evolution is voodoo science, that has no proof to support it. Life can't evolve from non-life, and scientists proved it because they tried to do it and failed every time.

Creation is part of our religious belief, we've never tried to call it a theory. It is a faith-based belief, and so is evolution.

Looks like Darwin made a monkey out of all you evolutionists.

I think you are very confused. The purpose of science is not to prove that God does not exist. The purpose of science is to find truthful understanding. Religion is also a quest to find truthful understanding (Not for everyone, but for most who practice one.)

If God designed man in his image and for the purpose of his own pleasure, would that not be truthful understanding if that is indeed how man was created?

If God does exist and he did create the universe, is there any better source of scientific information than God himself? Does the study of science not become the study of God? Is the search to understand the origin of man not science?

What if God's will is the common link that drives the forces?

Yes, the process of science is typically based on experimentation, but don't religion and science both ask the student to go forward based on previously established assumption? Can we not agree that in both science and religion, many of the previously established assumptions are probably wrong?

The Bible is a proven historical document. It is proven with other historical documents beside itself. It is a factual document. Daily the events of the Bible are archeologically discovered and are proven factual by scientist.
Evolution is nothing short of theory and everytime it has brought something to prove it those methods and things are disproven by scientist.
Scientist have stated at the core of our own DNA is indication that something greater than ourselves created the DNA we are made up of (Intelligent Design). And that has not been disproven.
Carbon dating has been used on things with known ages and proven to be inaccurate.
The reason man doesn't want to believe in Intelligent Design is because then they would have to accept that they have to abide by the rules (the Bible) of the Creator

At one time it was "widely accepted" that the world is flat. Intelligent Design can be considered as much of a scientific theory as anything else.

a theory is a belief, theories are unproven you smug, sanctimonius dick, and what difference does what you believe make anyway--if you figure out how everything got here do you win a prize? Is thunder gonna roll and the earth shake to tell you you're right?

this is the stupidest debate on here--possibly in the world--go hump a fossil

Religion aside.... nothing comes from nothing.... something comes from something, so for something to be, something had to be before it. How did the very first something get here? (scientific theory? uh huh)

You are talking to someone with a major in Psychology and a minor in Religion, so I know both the Religious and Scientific theories, common sense though, would tell anyone that something does not come from nothing.

P.S. Darwin himself knows this, are you a true evolutionist, or are you going by your own theory?

So would that also apply to atheists who smugly ask Creationists to "prove their theory" without referring to the Bible? Oh yeah...it would....
