That depends on the stress condition. There is no ONE answer for this question.
In general, exercise is a good stress reliever, so is listening to music, a hot soak in the tub, a good stiff drink if you're old enough and responsible enough, singing, taking a nice long walk, or just talking it over with someone who is nonjudgmental and with someone who will listen.

Everyone is an individual and reacts to stressors in different ways and cannot all be treated in the same ways.

There are however many recognised ways to reduce stress.
1. Look at your lifestyle and see what stresses you
2. If possible alter that situation.
3. Recognise situations which can potentially lead to stress and develop a mechanism to cope better.
4. Use relaxation techniques before going into known stressful situations.
5. Do above every day whilst regulating breathing rate to relax yourself.

This list could go on and on, but these work for me.

of course, keep a regular sleeping and eating pattern, and exercise at least 3 times a week for 30mins at a time.

i'm going to suggest also using some CD therapy: The Relaxation Company makes some really good CDs you may want to check out. they've helped me so much.

i've also been hypnotized for stress reduction, but some people would have a problem with it or not be comfortable with it, which is understandable.

You will be less stressful if you were resourceful and used the library, book shops, google etc. In other words stress is eliminated by doing not depending on others.
