I am a mathmatics graduate student and I need hard facts, not touchy-feely "my book says right here that..." assumptions. It seems like people that "know" God, know everything about God...So? If I were to die right now by a sudden and unforseeable cattle stampede because some idiot cowboy decided to smoke "the reefer" on the job, what is the percentage that I would get to heaven.
Let me rephrase the question, because I know I'm going to get a lot of "Well, are you a good person? do you praise God everyday?" That isn't what I'm asking. In today's world, I need to know if 1,000,000 people suddenly died in a strange, but somehow funny, metropolitan/marine manure accident during the lunch hour involving a medium scale earthquake, a tidal wave, and several bulk freighters carrying cow poo...How many people would actually get to heaven (on average based on society's current standards)... Is it approximately 450,432? 700,428? 4? What?

I think this formula will help:
a(B)=a(a) + $Xr(B/A) + %X[%Xr(B/A)] + 2%X(v(B/A)+a(B/A)
X stands for faith
r is a vector and (B/A) means that the vector at point B is relative to A, which is the pearly gates.

Those statistics would be absolutely impossible to obtain. We are not the ultimate judges because God is the ultimate judge. We are not privy to His ultimate decisions regarding who is in and who is out so there's no real way to answer your question in the way you want it answered.
The best answer I can give you is that if a person has accepted Christ in his/her heart and has repented (turned his back on sin and towards God), there is a 100% chance of him or her getting into Heaven. That's the only certain information I can offer you on the subject.

There is not way to know the statistics you want unless you were to die and ask at the gates of heaven...
You could look at current statistics of world population, then the rate of death, and the percentage of people who claim to be genuine Christians, not just in name only. Barna Institute may have some infor for you on this. Its a guess. The whole point is, be ready yourself. Know for sure where you are going. Don't just hope you'll make it.

100% of the people who are actually "saved" will go to heaven. Saved is defined as "repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" you must not only repent but change your life style from self to Selfless. living for God not your self. That is to truly be sorry for your sins. Sin is defined as "trying to meet your own needs without the help of God:" Good people do go to Hell. This is not Gods choice but the individuals choice. It's not that only that you believe in God because the Bible states that even the demons in hell know that there is a God and tremble. It's what you do with that belief

(Revelation 14:1) And I saw, and, look! the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads. So yes a small percentage will go into heaven. The rest of the "great crowd " that will survive armageddon as the Bible says will live on Earth just how God created us to live. If he wanted all of us to live in Heaven then we would have been originally created there. Jesus told one of the evil doers that repented of his wrong actions as he died beside Jesus on the stake "you will be with me in Paradise" This paradise Jesus was talking about was a physical earthy paradise that Jesus is the king over. The same place referred to where Adam and Eve were created.

nobody is in heaven right now except for jesus and god, but in the bible in the book of revelation chapter 14 it says that only 144,000 people will go to heaven and the rest of the righteous ones will inherit everlasting life here on paradise earth. many people think that everyone good that dies goes to heaven but that's not the case, things are alot more complicated than that.

I love math. Physics is wonderful. Didn't quite make it to the Astronomy degree.
But, reality, God doesn't give a percentage, He gives a warning. 'Many are called, but few are chosen'. I would put great odds on the fact that you may know 100 church members, but in reality 5 of them really are serious.....

Everyone goes to heaven when they die. When they are judged on judgment day then the ones that God says goes to hell will be cast out of heaven into hell.

You would first have to find out how many of the people with all of their heart believed in God & that Jesus is their Lord and Savior.

John 3:16 for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever beleiveth in him (meaning believe trust rely on follow) will not perish but will have everlasting life
