I smoke, but always try to be respectful of people who don't. I don't like the number of regulations in the US regarding smoking in private establishments though. I think businesses owners should have the right to choose whether or not to allow smoking. In turn non smokers certainly have the right not to frequent an establishment which allows smoking. If the business does not get enough business then they can choose to not allow smoking for their own economic benefit. I do believe though that if a business allows smoking it should have non smoking areas available. Non smokers do not see it this way though. If they can't go to a business because the owner has chosen to allow smoking this is an infringement on their rights, never mind the rights of the business owner or smokers, just so long as the non smoker is not inconvenienced. The most annoying thing in this debate though is those non smokers who go to an establishment which allows smoking and has segregated areas, they then ask for first available, get seated in the smoking section and have the nerve to complain about people smoking. This is hypocrisy plain and simple.

We "crybabies" would like to preserve our health. There are those who refuse to believe that smoking causes cancer. One of these days, I or another nurse like me, will have to take care of their dying bodies. You made your choice to die a horrible death. But I shouldn't have to die in a similar manner. I try to take care of my body to keep it healthy. Smoking gives me headaches, and the body odor that some people "don't complain about" is nothing compared to the odor emitted from smokers, who have had this odor so long they can't even smell it on themselves. I and most other nonsmokers can tell when a smoker enters a room before we even see or hear them...by their odor. But once in a while, we may get fooled, because it may be a nonsmoker who has just left the side of a smoker, and the odor has been transferred through the air to the nonsmoker. Get smart. Quit smoking and live a healthy life...and let us live ours healthier, too.

I was a smoker (up until recently) and it's just common courtesy that you don't smoke around people who don't want it. If someone goes out for a meal and sits in a smoking area, that is their own fault but smokers cannot expect to sit in an area that is designated for non smoker and smoke. People 'whine' as you put it because they don't want lung cancer. Simple!

They shouldn't complain! If they wanted a non smoking dinner they should have gone to a non smoking restaurant instead of complaining that we're smoking in the smoking section. If you don't like it, LEAVE! Make a damn statement and stop going to the restaurants that allow smoking and leave us smokers alone. Do you hear me complaining that the woman sitting across from me is wearing too much perfume and it's disturbing my meal and I want her to go wash it off? No. cause that would be absurd. It was her choice to wear it as it is mine to smoke. Deal with it or move!

If you choose to kill yourself by smoking, don't take those of us who choose not to smoke, down with you.

I don't like smelling like smoke after being out, or eating while someone is smoking near by - it's gross and disgusting.

And it seems to me that you are being a "Cry Baby" about not being able to smoke in public places. Join the times, quit smoking and save yourself. It's not cool, it's not sexy, and it's going to kill you.

Of course I complain when someone smokes indoors... because respiration comes before smoking... if you want to smoke, go outdoors.

I don't "whine" about it. I let them destroy themselves that way, whatever, more power to you. If you start blowing it my way and infringing upon my rights to eat "indoors" I will let you know exactly what I think and you will be left the one whining. BRING IT CLETIS.

HAHAHAHAHA!

I am all for the smoking....non smoking sections. It pleases both catergories.

If you don't like that people smoke at a certain establishment...don't go! It's as simple as that!

We all don't want to die from your smoking habit. Plus we like clean crisp air to breath.
