Dallas has little to do for young people that doesn't cost a fortune.
It's green and pretty most of the year, and a lot less humid; tho no one brags about summers in Texas. Golf is year round.
Dallas city council and mayor system sucks.

Houston has more concentration of people thus more crime.
It's so humid you can't breath. But it's closer to many good places to go to. Must also consider hurricanes.

Since our option is only Dallas or Houston--it's merely a choice between the lessor of 2 evils. Probably Dallas, the heat is more tolerable and it's closer to fun Fort Worth.

A Texan

If you look at the rate of crime in each of those cities I would have to say neither. Houston is prone to hurricanes, smog, pollution, over populated. Dallas is over populated, right in tornado alley, pollution. If I wanted to go for just a visit I would say Austin. I lived in Austin for a year and the night life on 6th street is a lot of fun. Otherwise I would not suggest any city in Texas. If you are looking to vacation someplace then I would suggest either a mountain state or the upper midwest. If you are looking to live down in texas and looking for employment then I would say Dallas. The economy in Texas is terrible so if you are looking for work good luck.

I live in Houston & have never been to Dallas. Having said that, Dallas has got to be better. We haven't had a hurricane since I moved here 13 years ago.

Dallas has many interesting places, and is easier to get to. If you are looking for a job Dallas would be great, it has one of the strongest economies of all cities. The crime is high, but that depends on which part of Dallas you go to.

I think San Diego is better! LOL! I lived in Houston and I was not impressed. Dallas wasn't very pretty either. I really cannot say which is best although Katy, Texas is very nice. Corpus Christi is really pretty.

Dallas by far...Houston is a cesspool of crime, traffic and illegal aliens. If you live in the right places in Dallas you might hardly see any undesirables.

Both have a lot of crime and are very complicated to get around. San Antonio is the best city and also Laredo which is where I'm from!

Houston, it's close to the ocean, great people, great food, humid and hot, but, that's okay.

It's like asking if I rather get stabbed or shot! Austin is the best.
