Coz life is becoming faster, more materilaistic, and human values are on the back burner now.

Because the extended family has broken down, women are delaying child birth and focusing upon their careers, more British people are moving abroad, divorce rates are higher, people put there careers and materialism as a priority over other family members. Couples are also now more independent when children are born due to modern medical treatment. Hence, they don't have to rely upon the family as a source of intervention if the child becomes unwell etc. Also people are living longer, are more physically able and independent, and do not rely on younger family members for nursing care. It is a shame, but it is a reflection of modernity and 21st century living.

Its not always through choice, I have nothing to do with my family, my moms death was the cause of our downfall with each other, a long story and very personal too, but I saw them for what they really were and its best that we are apart now, somethings just cannot be fixed no matter how hard you try.

Not always choice but it is sad and I think as we get older we realize this more and more . The woeld is getting smaller but by the same token it is easier for families to spread far and wide in the name of work and adventure.

your so right, i would like nothingmore than to have all my extended family kiving close by and my work and entertainment if it was like that the polution level would drop, the only time you would need a car would be for your holidays, it would great.

When you are a child you have to put up with your family however awful they are, but as an adult, if you can escape, you do.
