i dont want welfare, i hate the bastards who use it so they dont have to get a job. i have thought about dropping out for two and a half years now, and i am convinsed it is the right thing to do, i dont want a family, i dont need it. i need to be free, to be me, some people are just never accepted into their surroundings, i NEED to go to a different school, but my family cant move. so i want to quit. that is my final decision.

You are 13 and you DO belong in school. You are probably going through a difficult time right now. Things will get better. Check the laws in your state. Some states won't let you get your drivers license til your 18 if you quit school. That's a long time for you to wait.

It varies from state to state. In some states it's 15 with a parental consent in others its 18. What is the reason? I am a highscool drop out myself and regret it very much. I don't know what your reason is. Are you to inteligent for school? If so then maybe droping out would be good. You could go ahead and start college and be a doctor by age 19. If you aren't that far ahead of you class then is it because you are a reject in school? If that is it then have you thought about switching schools. I know that can be tough too but its worth a try. If switching schools isn't an option then maybe home school. Are you pregnant? If you are then what about the father? Your parents and his parents need to sit down with the both of you and decide what to do. If that is the case then both sets of parents should help you financialy take care of the child and both you and the father should have after school jobs or put the child up for adoption. At 13 you will not be able to give any child the kind of life it needs. If you just need someone to talk to feel free to email me. knight35966@yahoo.com. You are too young to give up on your future and with the way the world is going a highschool deploma or higher education is a must. I know all of this from experiance. I am 25 with 2 wonderfull kids, I am a soldier in the U.S. Military, I am a college student, and I am a High school drop out. I wish you the best and hope this help a little. P.S. no mater what the problem is everything is repairable at your age.

in canada i believe it is 16... but don't do it hun, it isn't worth it...i know so many people who dropped out, and in retrospect they wish they hadn't.high school is hard, but having ur hish school diploma will open so many doors for u in the future, even if u dont want to go onto post secondary. just stick it out, and focus on stuff u are interested in (take some cool electives) maybe if u really dont like the school environment check out correspondance (this is when u do the work at home and at ur own pace, then u mail it to the ministry.) Think about it anyways, and try to make a good desicion, i wish the best for you, you will get through it! good luck.

It is 18 in Wisconsin. Depends on which state you are in. Check with the state website.

I'd recommend staying in school and graduating from high school.

You need to be smart enough to know that you need school no matter how much you don't like it before you can just drop out of school. I don't think that will ever happen.

If your parents consent you can be any age, they just have to convince them that they are home schooling you. But try to get you education somehow because its very important/
