I am 26 and my boyfriend enjoys leaving my neck looking like I had a run in with a curling iron. Why do complete strangers feel they can comment.

I have to wonder, if you don't want comments, why post on yahoo? also, i am confused by your choice of words. "run in with a curling iron" sounds like you are not exactly thrilled with his foreplay. I had a boss at my first job advise that the solution to hickeys on the neck it to tell your partner to take it a bit lower, but for discretion and enjoyment. as far as feeling like they can comment, i think the other answer nailed it=-you are doing the advertising, you gotta expect some results. personally, i think it is a little bit obnoxious to comment on something like that, but I have know people that would not hesitate to say something

If you are letting him brand your neck like that (juvenile) then you should not be expecting compliments. You look like a skank-ho and people are probably trying to let you know that.
At the very least you could have him leave his mark elsewhere that is not noticeable. If you are in the work force, I can't imagine what your boss must think.
Why guys/girls (even 14 year olds) think sucking on someones neck is romantic or cool I will NEVER understand. Is that an indication of how bad a kisser you are? No idea.

They may want to make you feel as stupid as you look! A 26 yr old with a hickey looks a little trashy. That was for when you were 14. If he wants to leave marks have him do it in a hidden place or expect comments.

You say your boyfriend ENJOYS IT - but you don't say you ENJOY IT. I think it is time to talk to him about his need to "Mark his territory - like a damn dog peeing on a bush". What in effect he is doing is proclaiming to the world, "Hands off her - she is my skank." I agree with most of these people - if he feels like he has to bite you - tell him to take it lower so that it doesn't show to the public eye. Then bite him LOWER if you know what I mean - see if he likes it. Bottom line - you are way too old to be walking around like a young teenager with hickeys all over your neck. You need to stop it for your sake.

Personally, I think they look very cheap, it is not every-ones business what you have been doing.If you like them maybe you will consider allowing him to put them in places that are not visible to the public. And your boyfriend is obviously very insecure and feels the need to mark you. I do not comment when I see total strangers in public with sucker bites on them. However, you brought this to every ones attention and asked for comments and feedback. just as you are when you walk around with them in places that are visible you are inviting their comments. Your 26 if your boyfriend wants to advertise your passion then have him put them where people don't have to look at them. O by the way both of you grow up and become adults. People don't need to know you had sex the night before.

I think it's very juvenile. Whenever I see a grown person with hickey's it reminds me of when I was 14 and that's not a good way to be remembered as when you're an adult.

Ever wonder why he does it? I have always thought it was just another way of marking you as his "property", just another way of bragging about his conquest.

Because its gross and shows that you don't have enough respect for yourself to tell him to stop. "Love bites" belong in places that people can't see.
