I am trying to decide what to get my sister and her fiance for their wedding gift. Most guests get the bride and groom houseware for their new home. Both of them already have everything that they need for their home. I want to get them something/do something for them that is personal. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Well there are lots of things you can do. Do you know where they are going to live and the colors of there house?

If so, then you do a basket of things like kitchen towels, dish soap, scruppies, and decorations for the kitchen (or pick another room).

Or you can go to http://www.thingsremembered.com... and buy them something personal that they will remember the day by. This website will get you started on some ideas. You can get it personalized with their names. You can get clocks, picture frames, a vase, or glasses those are just some ideas.

Or you could just give them some cash to spend!

Or if they drink wine or anything you could get them some wine glasses and a bottle of wine so they can share a romantic evening together and you can get some romantic oils and massagers. All couples really appreciate romantic items especiaally for after the honeymoon is over it is nice to still have some items left over like message oils and some items without having to purchase items.

I hope this helps out a little bit to get you started there are lots of ideas here. If you want some more help feel free to email me just click on my photo and send me and email. i will glad to be more helpful. Just send me an email with more details about your sisters life (do they live together, what do they have in their house, things like that)

You should first get your sister a scrapbook of memories from your childhood together and put it in a really cute one. It'll make her feel more at home when she is thinking about home. For the both of them. Do the same, try to find pictures of them throughout the years (or however long they've been going out for) and put together a scrapbook. They'll appreciate it a lot.

REGISTRY REGISTRY REGISTRY,
I keep telling my family and bridemaids, skip personal and unique and just get me what I need. I would much rather my sister get my teapot from the china set that I want then a personal du hicky I have to figure out what to do with or where to put.
I have these beautiful towels in the closet that someone bought at a bouquet and they are very unique and original and fit my personal style but they don't match my house. So guess what they have been sitting unused for months...
Your sister will remember and cherish whatever you give her, she loves you but it would be nice if it's something she wants, fits her lifestyle and is usable!

Since they already have everything, and probably don't need more knick-knacks for clutter, how about a nice gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. And alert the management about it. They'll get special treatment they're not expecting! Won't they be surprised!

Work with the restaurant, they could surprise them with a gift basket, cake, you could tell the mgmt what their favorite wine is or something. A good restaurant will so work with you and your budget.

Do something like a nice big picture frame. I found one that is kinda big, black frame and matted with room for 4 pictures. I put in three pictues and made them black and white of them. One is them kissing, one when they are laughing and one where they are just posing, in the other space for a picture I typed out a little "i love you both" type thing. I said how special they are and how lucky they are to have each other. They loved it. They have it hanging in their home and everyone always compliments it. GOOD LUCK

Among other things, I gave my sister and her husband monogrammed glasses, and I also got them new address labels with their new "Mr. and Mrs." and their new address. It wasn't anything big, but it was personal and it meant a lot to them. Also, while they were on their honeymoon I had one of the non-professional wedding photos printed and framed, and I placed the picture, an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne, and 2 champagne glasses on their coffee table so it was waiting for them when they got home. I was lucky b/c my mom had a key - don't know if that's doable.

Why not book them into somewhere special for a weekend about six months after the wedding. The gloss will have worn off a bit by then, and they might appreciate the break.?

my fiance and I are combining two homes. You would think we have everything. But we want alot of new things that are just ours. Most of my stuff is left over from my previous marriage or my single days in between. Same with him. We want to redecorate our master bath with stuff we picked, same with bedroom and kitchen. We also entertain more then we did in our last marriages so we are finding we need stuff we never had before. So see if they registered somewhere. We had lots of fun picking out stuff for our new life together.

The best gifts that we got were monetary. We were able to do what we wanted. A check and a nice card are the greatest gifts that you can give a new couple.

I gave my sister and brother-in-law a cash gift, but I also had their wedding invitation framed in a box type frame and beautifully decorated. That was over 10 years ago and she still displays it.
