Do you mean prey or pray? I guess you mean the last. People pray because their minds have been controlled by certain thinking. They have been taught that if you can't achieve something, you can ask some superpower "God" to achieve it for you. In this way people are taught to be lazy, dishonest and irresponsible; the thing that seems relaxing and comfortable to many, especially in countries where religious rites are practiced openly and publicly. If their prayer has been responded, they think that God is satisfied and pleased with them so they are right? If their prayer has not been responded, they think that God keeps something better for them than they ask for or their time does not accord with God's time.
What doe people want God to be? Their servant who does what they ask him to do; or else they would shoulder God the responsibility of their failure and the bad consequences of their behavior?
Thus we have to look for another meaning of prayer and another system of faith and relgion so that people wake up and stop being dependent.

It"s "pray" ------- not "prey". Have you ever asked: "Is this all there is to life?" There must be more to it than all this---- "Faith" is what keeps hope alive --- that there is a God ---and this is the only thing that "may" save your butt from staying in the ground upon death for a very long time. No other power that we know about offers you redemption from death -- and all you have to do is to believe. I know what you are talking about-- I"ve had my moments with "God" also . Some how you must find that "inner peace" to smooth out your thoughts and fears about death -- after all -- is"nt that(death)what all religions, in the end, offer ?some method of "crossing over" to the other side -- a form of existence, other than being in the "flesh". You are not alone in these thoughts--there are many others around. I have a question for you now --- Why do people call out to God for help in times of great stress? Even "non-religious" people do this >> "Oh God ! Help Me". Why does a baby cry out for its mother? Perhaps the reason is that we are looking for a "higher power"--because we are limited and can not help ourselves. I hope you the best in your search.

We Pray, not prey. To prey is to prey upon someone. To Pray is to Pray to God the Father Almighty. I Pray, because God is there for me. He answers me and fills my Spirit with hope. Without Him, I would be lost. He answers me spiritually. Oh yes, we can prove that there is God the Father Almighty , maker of Heaven and Earth. Go get a Holy Bible. The Kings James version is Great. Read it, and a good place to start reading is in the New Testement. There you will find your answer. You sound so interested in our God. I hope and pray that you can find the happiness and peace that all us Christians find, through Believing in God the Father Almighty. Praying will bring comfort to you. But you have to be sincere. You can not mock the Bible, or you will not get answers. You are so sadly wrong. God is listening to me, and He has helped me through many trials and tears. Take care and may God bless you and yours, Always.

Maybe because I understand what prayer is and what it does.
See there is nothing about Pleases or Gimmes. It's all about changing to become more like Him and less like the world... Jim
BTW I have evidence that God is there... Scintific evidence not only because the Bible says so but because science supports it...

Because there are so many things that people need to know, that science can't yet explain. Also, many people feel that they have sufficient evidence of a higher power, it just hasn't satisfied you. A lack of proof is not a proof of lack.

When a prayer does not get answered it can mean many things. Perhaps God is telling you to wait as He has something better in mind for you. Perhaps what you want will not be what you really need. Perhaps he has answered it and you just did not understand it.

If you pray and get no response, you should stop. If other people pray and get response they should continue....Yes?
I can prove to you that there's a higher power; if the Sun looses it's light, you are history. So you see, the sun is a higher power than you are..so pray to the sun..yes?

Why do you ask a question, when you have already made your mind up???
ARE you trying to preach to me???
ARE you trying to tell me not to pray???
YOU are doing the same thing you accuse the Christians of doing!!!
God Bless
