There's this really, smart, shy guy at my school, but he's a senior and I'm a junior. We only have one class together, and that's a 30 minute lunch block and completely crowded. I'm new to my school, and I'm really shy, and so is he. I know a name and a face, and we said hello to each other once, and that was durring a cross-country meet and we haven't talked since then. But every time I see him in fire drills or hallways at his locker (across the hall from mine) he takes a quick glance, and then quickly turns back around. I don't really know what to do in this kind of situation. I do want to say more than hello and keep a conversation going... but we're both so shy....

>> Help please... ? MUCH appreciation.

You need to take charge and show your strength. gather yourself together, walk toward him and say, "hi, I'm........., how are you?" if nothing picks up here, do a quick scan while looking shy and bashful and look for anything that connects him to anything.....strange keychain, "What's that?" try to get him to tell long stories, then you have more to base your reply on. I would like to say that before you walk towards him, glance in a mirror to make sure there's no spinach in your teeth or anything like that. Then gather all your courage and walk up to him. That's the hardest part and you can't screw up. Think, *I have walked a million times before in my life, this'll be easy and it's the hardest part* DON'T LET YOURSELF THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!!!!!!! When you get to him think *too late to turn back now* say "Hi. I'm.........., how are you?"KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING! that's the most important part. Think *This is the easiest part and the most important but, I'm good, I'm talking to him* if the conversation starts dying....SEVER IT. DON'T let it die. "I gotta *smile* get to my next class, talk to you later!" *smile&wave* *walk away*
