It is a way to get rid of frizz, but it can cause damage. What i suggest doing is let your hair air dry until it is almost dry, and then blow dry it the rest of the way.

Blow drying can actually make your hair frizzier.
I have frizzy wavy hair.
I have found that blowdrying with a difuser (the cloth kind) can help reduce friss since it's not blowing your hair everywhere. Also, a blow dryer with a cold shot is good to use for frizzy hair. After blowdrying, use the cold shot, it makes it less frizzy.
If you want your hair straight, use a hot straightener (one that gets REALLY hot, I use coriolis ((they sell them in the middle of most malls, atleast here in MD)) ) If you use a straightener be sure to use something on your hair before using it. Something like Redken or Rusk Thermal Straight.
I know that for some people, applying regular hair gel before blow drying helps frizz, but it doesn't do much for me, I have extremely frizzy hair, and it stays silky after I use my lovely straightener, even if it is humid outside!! I've used lots of straighteners, the coriolis is by far the best (for me anyway).

I absolutely love Garnier Fructis smoothing milk. It's like a lotion for your hair. My hair is naturally curly and I live in Oklahoma so of course frizz is an everyday occurrence, but I use that when I first get out of the shower and it makes my hair soft and shiny and frizz free even with the curls. I love it.

I actually recently bought the Herbal Essence shampoos dedicated to de-frizzing called "None of Your Frizzness" (bright pink bottle, can't miss it) and it has done wonders for my hair. I have naturally wavy hair which basically means if the humidity is above 0% it's nine feet wide and this stuff, after using it for a week or so, really started to kick in. The bad thing is that you have to use it every day or else your hair gets kind of crazy again... but it's worth it, trust me.
Hope this helps :)

~use an anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner
~towel dry hair
~mix some anti-frizz serum and some styling wax in your hands and run it through DAMP hair (works better than dry and will fight humidity later)
~blow-dry while combing with a brush or fingers (this will get it smoother than just pointing the dryer at it)
~flat iron
~give hair a quick once-over with your blowdryer on COOL
~if hair still looks a little poofy, a little more serum or wax can be used to flatten it more, but don't overdo it

i HAVE to use a ceramic straightener to get the frizz out.. no question about it.
i use the CHI, it's kinda pricey (around $150), but works very well. also go the CHI hair serum to apply before usage of the iron, to protect the hair. sometimes i use a curling iron to get rid of the frizz at the bottom of my hair as well! good luck

I think blow drying my hair makes it frizzy....try letting you hair air dry or partially blow drying your hair. Then use a straightener.....Then apply a product by redken called Photo Finish or Vinyl Glam. It is a flyaway, frizz control product WORKS GREAT.....

TIGI makes some fabulous products for frizzy hair. They have an entire line, and what you will use depends on what kind of hair you have. I started using TIGI a couple of years ago, and will never change to something else. Good luck!
