Can a person join the peace corps even if they've done some jail time?

This guy I know has done some things in the past, but he's done his time. I was wondering if he'd be able to join the peace corps (with me).

I think it depends on what they have done. If its a felony conviction it doesn't look like theres a chance. I've been researching it for you and this is what I've found.

I don`t think so. They don`t want headlines like, "PEACE CORP ROBS BANK, holds hostages"
