I once ate a baked potato with tons of butter in it and it made me vomit the next day, was it because of the butter? If you have your own personal story, then go ahead and type it up. Oh, I also vomited because of my PMS symptoms, they were getting to the extreme-it was in the nurse's office at school-thank GOD she had a bathroom in her office-WOO!

The feeling that one is about to vomit is called nausea. It usually precedes vomiting, but it does not always lead to vomiting. The act of vomiting or throwing up is an uncomfortable, but amazing process to help protect a person from serious injury or even death. It typically happens when a person eats or drinks something that the body deems as poisonous. Sometimes it is a result of toxins created by an illness or disease. There are also situations where vomiting is an unnecessary side-effect to another condition, such as "morning sickness" for a pregnant woman.
