It seems to me that the only reason to "test" things is to find flaws in them, and if God is perfect couln't he have made us flawless.
And if it has to do with "free will", wouldn't he already know the outcome in advance anyway?

Whom are you talking about? Church calls it "GOD" and is talking shamelessly about their own creation. They can tell you each and every detail concerning THEIR OWN CREATION, they even counted the number of his hairs and of his crinkles. You should not join them in their nasty habitudine.
But I hope you are aware of the allmighty creator, and nowbody knows his name, and all we can do is to dignify him and to be aware: HE is TRUSTING in us.

So do not disappoint HIM, that means do not dissapoint yourself.
And you know: Your fellows are trusting in you, too.

Good question. Well in the beginning GOD probably did make flawless angels and creatures until................ The DEVIL or SATAN ran across this feeling called jealousy. You may already know that Satan wanted to take over GODS throne and for that he was cast unto the earth. Now that there's Good and Evil, God may give a test from time to time to see just which way your leaning. Satan's is always at work trying to get us to go to the wayside. GODS just testing you to see if your following his word and way of life. Hope this helps you ! I'm not trying to tell you what to do and never will but try to be kind to your felloow person, it'll make you feel better in the long run. Good Luck !

The words 'testing' or 'test' should be replaced with proofing. To proof. Think of gold coins that have a description as a proof. Meaning it is shiny, new, brilliant, clean and untouched.. Proofing comes from intense pressure and accuracy. He wants His people to be examples and learned in what life is. I am proof that God exists.......I get that way thru lessons, trials, etc. People see it and wonder how you can be so patient or forgiving. Many other examples, but I think the coin stamping is a good one

That’s an interesting point, and the answer really involves the kind of person God is. Would it be just or loving to condemn a person for doing something that you yourself planned for him to do?’ Then perhaps add: (1) ‘Jehovah is a God of love. (1 John 4:8) All his ways are just. (Ps. 37:28; Deut. 32:4) It was not God’s will for Adam to sin; he warned Adam against it. (Gen. 2:17)’ (2) ‘God did allow Adam, as he does us, the freedom to choose what he would do. Perfection did not rule out the exercise of free will to disobey. Adam chose to rebel against God, despite the warning that death would result.’

Here is what God set before Adam and Eve: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.” “And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: ‘From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.’” (Gen. 1:28; 2:16, 17)
Would you encourage your children to undertake a project with a marvelous future, knowing from the start that it was doomed to failure? Would you warn them of harm, while knowing that you had planned everything so that they were sure to come to grief? Is it reasonable, then, to attribute such to God?

Matt. 7:11: “If you, although being wicked [or, “bad as you are,” NE], know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more so will your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those asking him?”

If God foreordained and foreknew Adam’s sin and all that would result from this, it would mean that by creating Adam, God deliberately set in motion all the wickedness committed in human history. He would be the Source of all the wars, the crime, the immorality, the oppression, the lying, the hypocrisy, the disease. But the Bible clearly says: “You are not a God taking delight in wickedness.” (Ps. 5:4) “Anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates.” (Ps. 11:5) “God . . . cannot lie.” (Titus 1:2) “From oppression and from violence he [the One designated by God as Messianic King] will redeem their soul, and their blood will be precious in his eyes.” (Ps. 72:14) “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) “He is a lover of righteousness and justice.”—Ps. 33:5.

You are assuming that the "testing" is for God's benefit... :-)

Whether or not God knows the outcome in advance has nothing to do with our free agency to determine that outcome.

God is the only Perfect,
for test or any thing we can just run the strings of our thoughts, but can never got the actual.
i heard a thing and since then i have no doubt in my religion, a wise man told me, we are like a drop to the knowledge of GOD is like ocean, and that drop can travel and can mix up with the ocean but can never know the vastness of ocean.
i hope you understand, that GOD knowledge and will is beyond a human thinking.

In the beginning, God made us innocent as a child. Because Eve & Adam disobeyed him, and ate the fruit he told them not to, we are now "human". He tests us to make us stronger--to help us survive life. And as for the free will--he knows the outcome in advance, but it's all up to us. He gave us the chance to make choices on our own. He may whisper his imput, but it's up to us to listen to him, or go our own human, flaw-filled ways.

Satan of Hell is Abaddon of the abyss and rebels against God the Fatherr cause He wanted a peice of everything including his Master. And if LORD GOD TODD cuts off a finger then all hope is lost and Satan has won. If Todd don't and is assasinated they His Spirit never gave into the inferior races. Heil Germany

Well yes but the things is IT has to do with free will he does know the outcome but not always, he also knows we have a choice and that it our dession. If you are catholic, remember DO NOT QUESTION GOD. Our bodies dont let us know how it is so it just ends right there.

We were flawless in the beginning. Then we fell from his grace. This fall caused us to loose our perfection. God needs to rebuild our spirituality.

When you learned to walk as a baby, you fell many times. I'm sure that some of the falls hurt, and other times, you didn't feel it. So was it cruel that your parents let go of you so that you could walk on your own and let you fall down? Is it cruel that God will let go and let us fall down? One thing's for sure, God is there when we fall, and sometimes he will pick us up, and other times, he will let us pick ourselves up.

Sure he knows what's going to happen ... buy we don't. That's part of our spirituality & humanity; our abilty to explore and find God's goodness.

The preachers need money from their "sheep" in order to afford their limousines and luxurious lifestyles so they run this con constantly, making people feel guilty, assuring them they will burn in hell if they don't send money. Amazing people can be so stupid. Religion is a racket pure and simple. Sheep is a very aptly chosen word for their followers.
