Believers are like two people who have seen the same movie and enjoy talking about it together. There are times those who did not see the movie will butt in and destroy the joyful moment being shared. If the one who did not see the movie would only show interest of knowing what is it that made them enjoy it maybe the two would galdly and patiently share the story.
They are not afraid to speak out against the non-believers they just find it a waste of time to talk about things that no one wants to agree even to disagree. The driving power in this forum should never be the believers however not the non- believers either but those who seek to learn from each other bothways with respect from one another. No one religion could ultimately claim monopoly of the truth. False Prophets can also be found among those who who wear the robe and the tiara.

It seems like many Christians are embarrassed to be associated with you!
Many Christians here are kind have offered helpful advice to me as a non-Christian. I appreciate them for it.
I was under the impression that a Christian was a person who lives their life in a manner that is becoming to Christ. I have not witnessed that type of behavior from you.
Why do you feel like the Christians should be the driving force that dominates this forum? I have seen more Christians here than any other belief system. This is not a Christian forum, it is Religion & Spirituality.
It is sad that you claim to be a Christian man and cannot see good in anyone other than yourself.

I don't think any christian is afraid to disagree with non believers on this forum. By our willingness to speak out we are bearing witness against deception. Each believer has their own personality which contributes to the forum. Some are passive, some are zealous, some are blunt and to the point and some are encouragers. I pick my battles and I don't assume my way is the only correct way. In order to dominate this forum you would have to call it the Christian section and not the R&S section. Be of good cheer and know you do not fight the battle alone

I understand what Matthew says. But as hard to believe as it may be, there are other views on these things. So unless you can show us the deed to the whole concept of religion and spirituality, I hope you don't mind if non-"body of Christ" folks have their say about it - for example, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, etc.
Lastly, those of us who just have an interest in human ideas of such things will also participate. If not, I think a religious chat-room will probably be your best venue - NOT A Q&A FORUM.
By they way, do you know who the Matthew you quote is? Very few scholars are sure they do.

Why should anyone dominate? What's wrong with just discussing our different views? We all count. Who says we all have to think exactly the same thoughts? Anyway, it doesn't seem to me that the Christians in this forum are afraid to speak their minds, even when that involves criticism of others. And neither should they be in an open forum.

I am not afraid to speak out against non-believers or anyone else. I know who I believe in and He is all that matters. In my opinion, I don't feel we must answer or participate in every single question or rant to make a statement of our belief and faith in Christ Jesus our Lord and savior.
James 1:19-20
"My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires".
To God be the glory!

There's a great article in Time magazine in the October 9th edition on pp. 58-60 that should perhaps give you a good idea of why.
As a non-believer, I would hope that those here are not more aggressive about witnessing to others because they have enough respect for us to let us believe what they want. Most are not as rude or dominating as you, thank God.
Blessings and Light!

You think you should be the driving power that dominates this forum do you? What utter crap!! Do you really think that ranting like that is going to turn anyone on to religion in any form? Religion causes wars, full stop. And there should be no 'driving power' in this forum - freedom of expression is what counts. So you've expressed your views quite clearly and so have I.

Religion is scary,
Look how this guy wants to dominate and assumes religious duty.
S P, the reason you never see atheists outspoken in public is because you christians greatly outnumber us and we are treated as immoral if you find out that we are nonbelievers. I am an atheist who has a cross hanging on my rearview mirror, so that the cops will pull me over less, and it works.
It is pathetic that christians love to play the being persecuted card when in fact you are the vast majority and in certain areas of the USA if we don't believe in your God then we are shunned

Dominating is a hostile word. I prefer to love the forum. Jesus never dominated anyone. He loved all. Even when he was tired and wanted to be alone he had pity on the crowds that followed him.
Sometimes the only Gospel people will ever hear is our very lives. Gospel means Good News, not Hostile News.
God is love. Song of Songs. Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth.
Gotta love the big guy upstairs.
