america AND mexico because they are from texas,which used to be part of mexico THEREFORE TEX/MEX IS MEXICAN FOOD STARTED BY TEJANOS in spanish tex/mex is ESTILO TEJANO there is no such thing as one kind of mexican food just like Italy different regions are diffferent and texas IS a region!!!
