I do not believe in your god, nor do my children so why do I have to hear about your god in a school I pay for?!

You are right. Why do schools teach any religion, whatever religion, at all especially in multireligion countries? Thus from the very beginning at schools we teach our children segregation on basis of religion. We also teach them that we can tolerate any differences except religious ones. It has been proved that some religions teach children to be more loyal to religion than to homecountry. Again, teaching religion at schools concentrates on a religion being right or wrong. So if I am right, certainly the other will be wrong. Then what is the result? What you see in the world now. All hot spots in the world are boiling on the stove of religion.

Why is somebody that believes in God a nut job? Do a little research and see what happened when Madelyn Murray Ohare sued to have prayer taken out of schools. Look at all the school shootings. That didn't happen when we had prayer in schools. If you don't believe in God that's your business and your right but isn't it a violation of my rights to have your disbelief shoved down my throat? I pay for those schools too. And last time I checked a democracy was majority rule and the people that believe in God are a majority by a wide margin.

You say "your" God, how do you know which God is mine or any oneelse's? (did you really intend on offending everyone with this question?) I say that you will soon find out that there is a God, especially when you are standing in front of him telling him that he doesn't exist, won't you feel stupid when that happens.

Nobody can make you do or believe anything, nor can I tell that any one is asking you to change your beliefs. If you are an American you should know that America prides itself in FREEDOM. Freedom of speech, Religion & so forth. If you don't want to live in America or comply with the Constitution than you don't have to live here. No one is making you do that either.

By the way you are not the only one paying taxes, we all pay taxes. Taxes are not just used for schools they go to Social Security & the State & City you live in. Have you ever thought about all of the people on Wellfare or on CHIP or on Medicade? We are all paying for that too, get over it, it's life deal with!

The reason we love to have God back in all the schools, is so that we can teach our children to Love all people and have respect for God the Father Almighty. Our United States was built on a saying , In God We Trust !!! You are not the only one who pays taxes. Many people who don't own homes, are the ones who rebel against this . They voice their opinions strongly and do not pay property tax. You refer to us as Nut Jobs. Well our other children have to endure you and your children. We have to tolerate also what you don't believe in. And when you are calling us Nut Jobs, your one finger is poiinting at us, but there are three fingers pointing back at you.
So sad and too bad !! I bet your children want to be included. What does it hurt to say God. You are violating our rights when you also fight against God. Our Great Nation is built on God. So why go backwards ??

Putting God in school violates no one's rights.

There is a misconception that our government has ever had a "separation of church and state" policy, that is, that the church should have no involvement with the stately matters. What the provisions of the law actually state is that the state can not show favoritism to any denomination (or religion) nor can it act in prejudice or subordinate one faith to another. In other words, the provision allows for the church to act separately from the state.

Rights are being violated when God is NOT allowed in the schools.

God does exist in the minds of some people, they will try to pass this belief onto their off spring!!
If the subject of religion could be approached at school in a logical manner, and discussed in a logical manner children would learn that its all a load of BS!
But this can never happen can it? logic and religion are not at all compatible!
How could a teacher approach the subject of Christianity without being biased? Imagine a child's questions on the subject!!
So I suppose you are correct keep God and religion out of schools altogether, this means the parents will be teaching the children all sorts of cr*p, that they really know nothing about themselves!!
Yes its a problem and certainly not helped by having teachers spending time on a subject they don't really believe in their selves!!

Christians want god to be put back into schools because they feel like it's a good influence on their children. But I do agree that god shouldn't be a factor in school. The absence of god in schools doesn't mean that Christian kids don't hear about it, but the inclusion of god in schools means that -all- kids are FORCED to hear it. Just like with the Pledge of Allegiance. One's belief in any sort of deity is completely opinionated. God should be taken out of the pledge. It's just like saying "My favorite color is purple" in the middle of it... Doesn't make any sense. But at the same time, I believe that true acceptance of all people comes with acceptance of different beliefs. You and your children shouldn't be so offended by that kind of stuff. Just realize it's a way different than your own.

Stormy Knight: Yes, but just because you believe in God and pay taxes doesn't mean America should violate the Treaty in which it stated that it would establish no official religion or raise one above others.

Other people have rights to. Why is yours more important than theirs? Unless of course you are being charged for the prayers of others. It's one thing not to believe in a god. But some people need it.

Because Christians have rights too, and we also pay for those very same schools. What make you more deserving that we are? Our money holds the same value as yours does. Is it painful for you to even touch money, since it says 'IN GOD WE TRUST on it?

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Even that atheist madiline O"hara tried to keep her kids from knowing about God and one of her sons became a Preacher. Praise the Lord. And madline's life was cut short and ended tradecially, and she is now probably in hell for dis beilef. Go ahead and follow her example. Your children will find their way to God.
