oianzinho, I am from Az and I need Kevlar from the illegals that do shoot at you.

GUMBY all you list is propaganda. the group of 7 members family at the rest stop was stopped by a soldier going home on leave. Not a minuteman, and had nothing to do with minutemen. I live where it happened. Your source lies.
Infact everything you list is bunk.
The Neo Nazi was not a member of the minutemen but had inserted himself there. The minute men chose not to fight with him and his friends at a press meeting where that would have been reported as a brawl by the unfriendly media.
People being afraid because they have been told by your friends that the minuntemen will kill them doesn`t count as evidence of anything.
The man who gave water to an illegal and then a tshirt and posed with him for pictures was fired as he violated the no touch policy. Hardly an act of racism or brutality.

So infact you have nothing except a pile of worthless evidence!

GUMBY That people don`t like illegals gathering in groups of 30 to 50 men in a parking lot at the Home Depot they use, who are working illegally, has nothing to do with the minutemen. Housewives and other patrons of the business have a right to not be afraid to park there. 30% of all "felons" ( thats murders, rapist, child molesters, robbers etc.) in Southwest prisons are illegal aliens. This has nothing to do with the minutemen.

all propaganda put out by the open borders crowd/liberals/left-wing groups. this group does not shoot at illegals crossing the border. all they do is contact the border patrol agents to inform them of illegals crossing at certain points. what these guys are doing works! i personally wouldn't believe the ACLU...a group that wants to defend people who are in this country illegally AND defend terrorists that want to destroy our great land.

This question is like the tricky " Have you stopped beating your wife?" question.

First prove that the Minutemen were and are murderers, then your question has merit.

The Minuteman Pledge

A Minuteman upholds the Constitution of the United States of America, and reveres the American Creed that unites us as one people, our Declaration of Independence.

A Minuteman knows well America is a nation of immigrants, and realization of our national promise has always relied upon those who come to America from other countries to participate fully, with their children and descendants, as loyal and law-abiding U.S. citizens.

A Minuteman believes that just as ethnicity, race, religion and all such factors are incidental and do not affect our God-given, constitutional equality as American citizens, such factors are also irrelevant in the debate over illegal immigration. There is no tolerance among Minutemen for racism or bigotry - E Pluribus Unum - Out of Many, One.

A Minuteman believes in a strong, safe and secure America that begins with borders open only to those who have a legal right to enter, and who have met all the lawful criteria to cross into our territory established by the sovereign American people.

Minutemen vow to use every legal means at our disposal to assist law enforcement authorities in identifying and apprehending those who violate our borders, whether they are illegally trafficking people, weapons, arms, property, sexual slaves or any other contraband.

Minutemen vow to report to the proper authorities any business entity which knowingly recruits, facilitates or employs people who have entered America illegally, or which cooperates in any commercial activity which involves contraband smuggling or marketing of persons, products or material.

Minutemen promise to raise our voices -- on cellular phones along the borders of America and in the halls of Congress -- in the defense of the rule of law. The American people are firm but fair, and we share their great compassion for the many powerless victims of cruel, illegal human trafficking and labor exploitation. But we also support our citizens' adamant rejection of the blatant disregard for our laws and ordered liberty represented by the U.S. government's failure to secure our borders, enforce our nation's sovereignty and end the flood of illegal trafficking into American territory.

I vow before God and my fellow Americans that these principles guide my actions as a Minuteman. "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty..." And so I will stand watch on America's borders and in her sovereign interest until relieved from duty by my fellow countrymen.

Well.....Neo-Nazis and other hate groups have supported Hilchrist's campaign and were allowed to hand out supremacist literature at rallies with his knowledge

Photographs taken at an Oct. 29 Gilchrist rally in Sacramento show a man outfitted like a Nazi Skinhead distributing propaganda from the neo-Nazi National Alliance. "I talked with Gilchrist about it and he said they'd decided to, in his words, 'let it go,'"
There's more on them at Southern Poverty Law Center

2. SourceWatch.Org also speaks of concerns about support by hate groups.

3. This one speaks to the environment that immigrants have to deal with largely in part by the legitimization of racism. It is an eight day tour of what is is like to be an immigrant including dealing with hostile people like the Minutemen. Day one Home Depot despots, talks about racial harassment of Latinos in a parking lot.

4. This is a book that further deals with the effects of the racism around immigration.

5. This one continues to talk about racism and immigration. It starts with an incident where a guy holds seven Latinos hostage at a rest stop at gun point because he assumes they were illegal.

6. This one is interesting. At the end it talks about Mexican-American communities organizing to protect themselves from racist groups. Remove the space between the letters, It blocked them for some reason

I guess the greater point is this. The Minutemen represent something that is racist in nature. That any person should be able to control the life of another simply because they do not have US citizenship is wrong. To intimidate and harass Latinos is wrong. To force immigrants who are coming here regardless, to go farther and farther into the desert in order to support their families is atrocious. To promote the idea that all of these things are legit is an atrocity. It is very disturbing that I had to search so long to find this info and that so many like yourself are unable to find it. To have mainstream media continue to speak of the Minutemen as if they are no different than the FFA or the Boy Scouts is disingenuous. The fact is, powerful forces have reason to support the hostilities between groups of people in this country. To keep them preoccupied, to keep their minds off who is really making their jobs disappear. Who is really ruining their country? They are not the ones wandering the deserts. They are the ones in fancy suits wandering the halls of our democratic institutions.

UPDATE:
The point is that the Minutemen Projects legitimization, by being shown on tv and being able to argue to discriminate, is despicable and it promotes racism. I bet you that soldier knew who the minutemen were and probably considered his actions to be similar to theirs. It is related to the Minutemen because they are promoting the beliefs that are shared by racists.
That is a ridiculous assertion that those guys at Home Depot were harassing Mexicans to make people feel safer. What a joke. If you want to talk about people being terrorized it is the people who have no rights and who have the established media supporting ideas that they may possibly be terrorists, that they are stealing jobs, that they are filling the prisons with violent criminals all of which are not supported by evidence, much like your arguments. By the way a significant majority of the felons that you are referring too are actually nonviolent offenders. Maybe you should look at prison census data, eh? All of my sources do support what I am saying, which is that the Minutemen are a force that represents racist ideas who are supported by racists and who have contributed to the environment of hate between races. Maybe you should look more closely at the socialistworker article. It really speaks about the derogatory environment that Latinos have to live in. Have you heard of the ICE raids. The government is kidnapping people in the middle of the night or elsewhere. Taking them with no statement to family. That is crazy fascist stuff man.

I dunno, but if you're a 10th Generation Hispanic Arizonan from Tucson, you'd better wear your Kevlar before you go hiking!

I always carry a piece hiking now, in part because of the Minutemen. I'm white but not all my friends are.
