Windows has been installed on this PC many times, and as a consequence, under the path C:\Documents and Settings, I have the following profiles:

Administrator
Administrator.GATEWAY
Administrator.GATEWAY.000
All Users
All Users. WINNT
Default User
Default User.WINNT

Is there a way I can delete them without messing up my PC?

you didn't restored Windows properly and as a result, you have too many "partitions" or profiles, only that you can't access them

you should only have "administrator" and "all users" and "default user" folders with a proper reinstallation...in your case, however, your active folders are "Administrator.GATEWAY.000" "All Users. WINNT" and "Default User.WINNT"

to delete them all is a real pain the neck...and sometimes, you won't be able to unless you really know what you're doing (i've done this before...my sister did something similar a few months ago). to delete them, you need administrator's privileges and even then you'll find folders you can't delete.

my suggestion? reformat the c drive...you can try reinstalling again, but you have to wipe out everything before doing that...otherwise, you'll have more useless "profiles"

The only one you should need is Administrator, if it's your PC and no one else uses it. WINNT = Old, unless you're running on NT.

The ones i'd recommend keeping are Administrator, All Users, Default User.

If you want a better answer, go to www.techspot.com, they're very good with this kind of stuff.

In order to delete them. Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > go from there to find which you need to delete.

Those are all default. You have no need to delete them. They are ok being there.
