I have a dell dimension 5150 I have no instructions for the head phones
get sound but the mic does not work.

Go to Control Panel > Sounds, click the Audio tab, and make sure you have the right device selected. If your headphones are just plugging into your audio jacks, select your audio chipset or card from the list. Check the volume and other settings that are accessible from here. If your headphones have a mute button or volume knob, make sure it's set properly. You don't need any special drivers.

Ok look near the place where the wires for sound card is located on the computer (follow the wires from the headphone to pc) ...there is a place to plug in the microphone. The place where the microphone plugs in should have a small icon or picture of a mic. After plugging in the mic, check it to be sure it is working..If not take back to store for refund or replacement. All newer computers has PNP or Plug and Play which means you dont need to worry.

There are no drivers for headphones or microphones. Check the connection to make sure that the mic is not plugged into the wrong area.

What kind of connection does it have to connect to the pc? Did it come with any discs? If the computer does not recognize it when you install it then yes you probably need to download the necessary drivers. They can be accessed probably through the manufacturer's website.

no but if it is USB in some special brands you may have to install the special programme to get some additional features, Some fiber headphones needs special progammes but not drivers,
