I fly all the time and they have recently reduced the criteria for liquid and gel-based items in carry-on luggage. You can take prescription medicine, small amounts of OTC medicine, baby formula if the baby is with you, liquids or gels such as hand sanitizer, lotions, tooth paste, etc. as long as it's carried all together in a 1 quart clear ziploc baggie. This will have to be sent through x-ray seperately. You can also bring food and beverage purchased in secure airport areas (those areas you have access to after passing through security). Check your airline's website for more detailed information.

You can take your wallet, photographic camera, cell phones, papers and other non combustible materials. Liquids and gels areprohibited. Lip sticks or lip balms or small tubes of semi liquid substances have to be taken in a clear bag that is to be produced at the time of security checks.

Sorry khalid, nothing that can be used as a weapon will be allowed, so stay in the middle east and heat your dinner over burning camel dung.
