How do you set those old fashioned alarmed clocks?

depends on how old. If you see an extra hand that doesn't move, try moving that to the time you want it with it's lever on the back. Pull it out or push it in to activate it. Be aware that it doesn't know the difference between am and pm so you will have to learn to turn it off.

Simple, you just feed it corn before you go to bed, and in the morning it wakes you up in time to milk the cows.
And it keeps the hens laying eggs.
