Is that the question? I don't think neutering has anything to do with potty training.

If this is something new it could be a uti. A simple trip to the vet, a urinalysis and some antibiotics should do the trick. They'll ask you a series of questions such as 'is this a new problem, if so how long has it been going on', 'does he drink more water than normally', 'is he urinating more often', 'is he straining to urinate or is there any blood in his urine'. Be prepared to give this information as it will help decide if there will be x-rays as well as the urinalysis. Best of luck to you!

They will sometimes push their limits to see what they can get away with. This could be the situation with your pet as well. It could be a medical issue as well.
Continue to train your pet as if they weren't already house trained. If things continue, consider taking them to the vet for a check up.

Well chihuahuas are very tempermental, he could just be angry, sad or depressed. My hubby yelled at my 8 yr old chihuahua, and she peed in his tennis shoes or on the carpet on his side of the bed daily for almost a week.

Is it something he just starting doing? He might have a bladder infection and need to see the vet. If he is marking his territory, you can break him of that too. Have you gotten a new pet? Did someone bring over another dog and your dog thought he should mark his territory?

Smaller dogs have smaller internal organs, and are also more proned to seperation anxiety. His indoor habits may be his plea for more attention or his years in general. Limit his diet, not too drastically, but set up a schedule for the little one.

If something in your home has been added like say a girlfriend/boyfriend, another animal, something that's taking your attention away from your dog.....they are "marking" their territory and letting you know they are displeased with whatever you have changed in their life.

whether he has been neutered or not your dog is simply marking its territory so you need to catch him in the act if you want him to stop
