Wash and oil the hair like a hot oil treatment. Do all this while the braids are still in; this will aid in strengthening the hair when you take it out, and make it easy to comb through and minimize on breakage. Also using a spray bottle with a water and oil mixture helps during the process. As we know it's going to be a lengthy one so the water and oil will aid in sealing the moisture in. While your at it get a couple good movies and some extra hands!! Treat some Friends to pizza or something to minimize on time!!

Just like the other two answer it may seem like I'm mocking it, but what the two ladies said is true, the only easy way to take out micros,,, is to wet it with something moist,,I myself will stand in the shower and lather my hair up with shampoo, and conditioner and then tease the braids out,,,the weight of the water will help pull the braids down,,,yes you will loose some hair but it's DEAD:)

I wear micros a lot. I usually cut them a little, wet add shampoo are conditioner and let set for a little bit and some will slide out. Others I tease with the comb a little. But keep in mind you will lose a little hair regardless, most is dead hair.

Mocha and D33 are right. You will have some hair lost. Recruit some friends and make a party of it. But do remember once they are out..be gentle while combing..you don't want to go to the salon and come out with a doo you know you didn't want!
