You can use your microwave to cook in, but the results may not be even. I use mine mainly for heating up left overs, thawing frozen meats, and doing other prep work more than actual cooking.

You can't use metal pans in a microwave because it will arc and ruin the oven. Stick to glass and plastic. Also, if your microwave doesn't have a turn table, you'll need to rotate the dish a quarter turn every few minutes to make sure that everything cooks evenly.

first, never put stainless steel or any kind of metal in your microwave. Generally speaking, microwaves are not great for making cakes. It will be most helpful to you for warming things up but can be used for cooking most anything. Just be careful not to over cook meats or they will be tough and vegtables can become dry or rubbery.

NO to ANYTHING metal in the microwave.. not even aluminum foil... NO.. cakes in it are NOT good at all... I am not a fan of microwave EXCEPT for a quick heat of something... You might be able to use pyrex type glass.. but I would be careful.. I do not use glass in one AT ALL because if you use it for extended minutes, you stand a good chance of the glass breaking
