Do you suffer serious motivation problems like me, where you need to lie down with your eyes shut and find it hard to sit up? Do you think this is due to the medication or the illness.

I am rapid cycling bi-polar and refuse point blank to take any anti-psychotic meds. I take a mood stabiliser, an anti-depressant and a sleeping pill ( Which never works, because I am so wired at night ) Anti-psychotics drain you of all your energy and motivation. When I was on them I couldn't function, but now that I have taken myself off them I am back at work, and studying. Unless you are in full blown psychosis, don't go near them. Doctors love to prescribe them because they keep you quiet. But they also make you a very dull person.

I'm rapid cycling bi-polar. Been off meds for about 5 months. Motivation was & still is a problem. How's your sleep? Multiple disruptions such as snoring (yours or your partner's/pet's) frequent train, plane, traffic noise, body pain (often associated w/the down side of bi-polar) all can cause sleep/dream disruptions leaving one mentally & physically exhausted. good luck--there's hope. I use a bi-pap (breather unit) Works great!
