Air New Zealand's current route structure does not require A380, instead, it went for Boeing 777 and 787s.

Eventhough its flagship route to London and Los Angeles is pretty much high demand, but the airline doesn't need the aircraft as large as A380. In fact, its Auckland-LA-London will be flying by a 777 instead of 747 starting the end of October.

Due to the delay of deliveries anounced b y Airbus lots of airlines have revised their orders..So one of the airlines that revised their orders is ANZ but as it turns out ANZ won't revise its plans in purchasing the A380....

I think they put their order on hold pending Airbus' final word on the 2 year delay to delivery. (buy Boeing stock)
