call them and they might tell you it's nothing. Or if they think it is something they'll tell you to go to a hospital, in which case they'll mean go to a hospital. Better than worrying for the next few hours...

Good luck!

NHS direct will only tell you to go to A & E if your symptoms present as something needing immediate attention. Sure they dont want to be sued but neither do they want to fill the local A & E with public who could see their GP in the morning or take paracetamol and go to bed!

It's also worth noting that even if they suggest you go, they can't make you! Its your choice in the end.

Give them a call....they have been great in my experience.

You can't sue them. They can't make you go to hospital. They give the best expert medical advice it is possible to get over the phone (ie without examination)

Take some responsibility for your own health here. Get the advice. Then make the decision. This is what a grown up would do.

They will give you advice based on your symptoms. If you have none, they will tell you to keep an eye out. If you have mild ringing, they will tell you to see your GP if it continues. If you have completely lost the hearing in that ear, they may tell you to go to hospital. But you don't have to take their advice... Ask them what is the worst that could happen!!!

With NHS direct you'll be talking to a nurse or, if necessary, a doctor. They will send you to hospital only if they think it warrants it. Phone them, that's what they're there for.

in easy terms stated as them as quickly as while my wee boy knocked himself out falling from a wall - they have been impressive with me, and there develop into an ambulance on the door earlier i even complete my call to them. Why did your gp provide you anti-biotics for an endemic - they gained't be waiting to assist.? x

Don't worry, in my experience they have a lot of petty questions to ask and it will be 15mins into the phone call before they ask if you are conscious and breathing.....

Yes, this is actually what happened believe it or not!
