Can't you buy or rent a bigger house? This is a tough situation cuz it seems that you're house isn't big enough for you and your three kids.

My husband and I are in the same boat with the three kids and one bathroom. We always have everyone ask if they need to go before someone else goes to take a shower or are going to be longer. I know sometimes its harder of little ones to hold it. I purchased a toilet that they use for camping and keep that in bathroom too. It helps out in a HUGE WAY. And its nice we take it with us when we travel. And we hide it when we have company so we don't don't embarrass and the kids for a small porta potty in our bathroom. If someone is in the shower we just make sure the shower curtain is closed if you don't have a shower curtain you could put a shower rod up and to have one cover the door's. We had done that at our old home. Some day I will have two bathrooms . you can look at the porta potties at the site I have left with.

I too have only one bathroom. There is 5 of us in the house. We just tell each other when we need to take a shower. Someone yells I'm taking a shower anyone need to go. My boyfriend and his son usually go outside if they really need to go. I only wish I could do that. I know what you mean about the bathroom situation. Sometimes I have to brush my teeth at work cuz I can't get into the bathroom. Gosh I hate that!

Let the family members know that someone will be in the shower, go now or hold it until they are done. Get a shower curtain you can't see thru and if it is an emergency then... but of course no flushing until the shower's over. They will learn. also limit the length of a shower.

you should start reserving the bathroom and keep track of it. But no more than 45 mins at a time. Hopefully this will work until you get another bathroom. Save up to install one near your room.

Sounds like you need an additional bathroom. If this is not feasible remodel your bathroom allowing for a door between the tub area and the toilet/sink area.

Let them use the bathroom people these days make the human body something to be ashamed of instead of proud of. I am not a nudist but I try to teach my kids not to be embarrassed by there bodies!

It helped when mine were little and we had one bath, to have a 'potty call' before I got into the shower. Give everyone warning and a chance to run in before I closed the door. Doens't ALWAYS work but sure did help.

limit showers to x# of minutes, then dress and groom in
your room. natures call can almost always be delayed
for 10 minutes or so. if everyone learns to be considerate
of everyone else you can work it out. we did.
