Everything but the kitchen sink. Homemade pizza is a good excuse to use up those three or four fresh mushrooms, that bit of ham left over from Sunday dinner, a couple of pineapple rings that won't go in anything else, etc.
I make my homemade pizza on a jelly roll/cookie sheet pan, then top half of the dough with one combination such as ham/pineapple and the other half with cooked ground beef and veggies. My late father in law "hated" pizza, but he'd pig out on the homemade stuff.

Go and get pepperoni from the deli. It's so much better. It's also good to crumble some cooked bacon over it for some of the crunch. I also like pineapple on my pizza, but everyone who sees me do it says it's weird... very good though.

When I'm feeling classic: just pepperoni.
Otherwise, I'll go with pepperoni and usually only one, sometimes two of the following:
Green Sicilian olives
Marinated artichoke hearts
Hot coppa (a cured Italian cold cut)
Dry salami
Cooked Italian sausage
Peperoncine (pickled mildly hot peppers)
Roasted red pepper strips
Now... About 20 years ago my wife, her old roommate/best friend and I went wild for homemade pizzas. Our favorite: my wife made a pizza crust with rye flour. We spread it with coarse-ground mustard, then topped it with pastrami and Swiss cheese.
It was AMAZING. Took the pizza out of Little Italy and dropped it into the heart of Brooklyn. Later, on another rye crust, we put on drained sauerkraut and made a Reuben pizza.
So then we made a crust with about 20% corn meal in the dough, topped it with chile colorado, added carnitas, fresh oregano and Mexican cotija cheese. WOW. And a chile verde pizza, with a tart tomatillo sauce and cubes of tender pork under Monterey jack cheese. And then a chicken mole pizza. (Uhhh, that's a classic Mexican sauce made with chiles, fried plantains, tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, raisins, onions, roasted garlic and cocoa powder, and it's pronounced "mo-lay" for y'all who might otherwise think I'm talking about a little blind rodent that digs tunnels in your lawns. :-) If I'd known about al pastor (a rich, slightly sweet seasoning for roast or barbecued pork), I would have made one of those too, with fresh cilantro and raw onion spread on after it comes out of the oven. And I'd make it with masa instead of ground corn meal -- VERY different flavor. In fact, we have to have one soon...
Compared to that, the pesto pizza with shrimp and scallops (under lots of parmesan cheese) was practically ordinary. Good, though.

absolutely best recipe i've ever made is this....
take a whole thing of the ranch dip, 1 whole package of cream cheese, and feta mix it together...make that as the sauce
then for the toppings do cheese, grilled chicken, pepperonni, onions, green peppers, etc....

it's really up to you, pineapple & ham is my favourite, but you can basically put anything on the pizza, like sundried tomatoes, cooked chicken, or chocolate, apple, peach & icing for dessert pizza.
