It can go brown with exposure to the air, but I would smell it. Does it smell bad? If there is any type of smell to it then it is off and I wouldn't eat it. If it doesn't smell, you might try cooking it alone and taste a tiny bit to see if it tastes ok. I wouldn't use it in a sauce or anything though cause the other flavors might mask the taste if it is off. Better to toss it if you think it is bad.

Ground beef that's exposed to air will turn brown, but the meat itself may still be good. Your nose is your best friend in this situation: if the meat smells sour or "off" in any way, throw it away.

If you do decide to cook it, I'd crumble it finely and boil the heck out of it. It can then be used right away in casseroles or soups. Or, it can be frozen and used in recipes that require cooked ground beef. In any case, make sure that it's cooked thoroughly and used quickly.

I think so. Groceries often cheat by eyeballing their packaged meat and adding more days to its "best before " days. The reason for this ?- to sell a 2 day old package still labelled as freshly packed. I saw an expose' on TV about this a few years ago. They even had hidden cameras that filmed the process.

Mince will generally exchange color like this. as long as this is interior date, which as of on the instant this is, and it does not scent undesirable, it would be ok. Meat will unavoidably have blood in it, and if it is been sitting around, even in the refrigerator, this might pool consequently giving the brown color. only cook dinner it properly. it would be large!

Companies add red food coloring to give meat the red appearance. The real color of the meat is brown. It should still be good if you cook it immediately. Try smelling it to see if it has turned bad. If so, discard it.
