i uninstalled works 8 and tried to install works 2004 on my pc but it fails on final key registration HELP?

i installed the product key but it fails on registration,but it will work if i leave the works 8 on my pc,but then i have 2 versions

There should be an option in the install program to overwrite the older version.MSoft has a habit of requiring that you own an earlier version to install the latest updated prog , which is prob why you have to leave the other in there to do the install - so look for that option. You could also try the remove prog in windows setup after you have installed newer version.
