Yes, it does. Religions are largely a reflection of society and they change as society evolves. Many religions base their tenets on ancient texts, which have been edited some over the centuries. However, they are written in vague enough language that it is quite easy to "interpret" them according to popular demand.

Ancient Greece provides a succession of gods until monotheism ultimately prevailed.
Hesiod's Theogony tells of three generations of gods -- primordial, then passions, then a celestial bureaucracy with of the foibles of office gossip. This may reflect the traditions as a complex civilization rose from a mystical hunter-gatherer tradition.

Religion can change somewhat, but the basic laws of God will not.
Jesus gave the Keys to Peter, and said what ever you bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven and whatever is loosed on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
So we are to follow the teachings of our Catholic Church. If they mess up, it is on their souls not ours!
Peace!

They do not discuss it but I personally believe that even spirits of man does evolve from innocence to intelligence, from intelligence to learning, from learning to wisdom and from wisdom to understanding. As man evolve from apelike form when they were still living and surviving on trees, to an erect creature when they learned to survive outside the jungle, to agility when they learned to hunt and invent tools, to intelligence when they started discovering the usages of the elements around him, to wisdom when they tried to find the answers to his existence and the understanding when he realized that he is the only creature made responsible for the progress and development of humankind to its ultimate capability to destroy the world.

Seeing as how virtually all of them are conglomerates of unrelated folk tales and stories of mythical heroes, yes, they have most definitely evolved.
And this is blatantly obvious if you look at their history. So very few people do this, unfortunately.
