=Nope, can't do it although much money, scientific experiments and time has been spent trying to do just this. No one can fool Mother Nature. Seaweed (kelp) belongs on the land as much as man belongs living on the moon.

Nope. Kelp is dependent upon the sea for its nourishment -- an excellent source since the sea is the repository of all the minerals that have been washed from the land through the millennia.

Did you know that if you take kelp pills (found in herbal/health stores) it fights and protects against Thyroid, Low Metabolism, Overweight, Poor Digestion, Kidney Problems, Circulation, Inflammation, Arthritis, Rheumatism, Immune System, & Stress?!

you cant grow it on land unless you have a major hydroponic system, kelp beds grow up from the bottom of the ocean and reach heights ..im not exactly sure but i think they can grow 50' tall and they are dense, and the water there where they grow is very very cold..if you were to get caught in one of these beds you'd probably drown, they are dense and compact...usually off california coast

But great strides have been made at Wood's Hole in the development of aquatic apple trees. They have a small experimental orchard consisting of Red Delicious and Granny Smith apples just off the coast of Provincetown. So far the harvests have been sparse, but the trees are still young.
