I read the column by John Florez (Feb. 7) about the Mexican consul and the immigration problem. First of all, the Mexican government needs to take measures to stop the flow of illegal aliens. Second, illegal aliens have no rights inside the United States. Why should American taxpayers pay for people invading their country? American civil rights do not apply to foreign invaders.
If Mexicans think that their lives are so horrible, then why don't they kick President Vicente Fox out of office? Gov. Jon Huntsman should be doing everything he can to deport all illegal aliens who are currently sucking away at the Utah and American economy. If Mexicans don't like it in America, then they should go back to Mexico and stop trying to change America into Mexico.

Stephanie S - Go read up on some history before you answer. If they're here illegally they don't pay taxes unless they're using a FAKE SSN and other documents, which not only means they broke the law by coming here illegally - - but they used TRUE AMERICAN'S DOCUMENTS!!!

YOU GO GIRL!! I totally agree with you, there is a reason they are called ILLEGAL immigrants! They are here illegaly. Our countries finances are in such shambles and we are trying to support every other country's overflow. I am sorry, I am all for helping the needy, but we have enough needy us citizens to take care of, and alot of times they get the raw end of the deal. If you are an illegal immigrant, you don't pay taxes, but you can get free health care, your kids can go to school here, and you can go to college all at no cost, is this fair, NO. If I didn't pay taxes what would happen to me, I would go to jail. hmmmm doesn't seem like we our the number one priority of our country any more huh?

Calderon is the new President-elect, Fox is leaving and joining a lecture circuit (the same one Bill Clinton and Bono are on, to be exact.)
Human beings have certain rights. Residency and ability to take services we pay for are not some of them - with the exception of emergency health care until they stabalize, and even that is something we just want to do.

It's not just mexicans.. It's anyone who came to this country and is living here, w/ out papers od residency. They have no rights in the U.S. Thing is that republicans aren't doing anything because they're gaining out of it.. By having illegals here, they pay them less, so they have more gain in their businesses...

just build the wall and put cameras and remote control fully automatic rifles in place to pick off the illegals in the act of committing the crime. If a burglar breaks into your house, you shoot to kill, why should the security of the nation be any different.
That is what I would call effective enforcement.

why are you so worried about other people? and if you think taxes have anything to do with it you are misinformed and uneducated about taxes in the US ... your taxes go to pay the banks and the interest on the national debt ... an illegal system in itself and a much larger problem in this country than the poor mexican farmworker picking tomatoes ... but this is the nature of ignorance in america .. nobody knows or cares about the real issues but theyre ready to sell their neibour out just so they have somthing to talk about ... even if they have no idea what theyre talking about ...

If they come legally, enjoy the right granted under immigration policy.
You break the law and enter illegally, you have the right to serve your sentence for breaking that law.
Deported, after you repay the cost of your arrest and jail time.

United We Stand, just because I support amnesty doesn't make me a traitor....Both my brother and father served in the Army and Navy to protect the freedoms you now enjoy....We were brought up to love this country and to die for it.....
I currently volunteer with CASA, child advocates, to help my local community of abused children, please don't tell me I am UNAmerican......Just because I am able to see the human element with the illegal immigration issue, doesn't make me a traitor....Its so easy to point a finger and make judgements about people you know nothing about.....You say I am a traitor, I say you lack compassion and empathy.....
And yes, all human have rights, regardless of their status....
