I am sorry to hear that. I lost my Aunt last december to colon cancer that spread throughout the body. As well, my step mother died a little over 2 years ago from the same thing. It is a brutal disease that ravages the body. Be there for her, and give her support. Best wishes.

Sincere sympathy, medical is one good way of treatment, our body is consist of zillion of living cells, cancer as medical expert put it is cells that becomes cancerous,it stars to attack other good cells but in actual fact it is not the cancer that kill the person it is the fear in the person that kills him,an example of a growing cell is a baby growing in the womb of a would be mother, the mother is not scard but happy. There are bad people and you don't go arround killing them you have to educate them,so if your body get bad cells treat them nice,we are what we eat, take a more healthier diet with more green,my mother is down with many illness;high blood, heart plobrem, diabetic and high fat content. After three years of vegetablian diet all is now back to normal and the most important diet is a mind free of worries, remenber the four good. 1 Harbour good.2 be a good person 3do good deeds 4say good things.Sincerly wish your aunt will recover,at the cancer society there support team made up of people who have fully recovered from cancer and they are very helpful. Look them up Good luck

Depending on what stage it is at makes a difference- stage 4 is worst- 1 is better- surgery, chemo and radiation are possibilities- my mom had colon cancer and had a colostomy - but she had a colostomy for years due to a bullet tumbling in her intestines- sorry to hear about your aunt-D

While no one wants to hear they or someone they love has cancer, colon cancer tends to be slow growing and quite treatable. I'm 50 and I've had it twice and I managed to beat it both times. So there definitely is hope. I wish you the best.

My sympathies. Hope she beats it. Treatments are improving all the time, and early detection increases chances of beating that wicked disease.
Take care of yourself. Your dad or mom, whoever's your aunt's sibling, should be checked and take preventive measures now that there's a history in your family.

my dad had it when i was 9 years old...it is really tough and hard to get rid of but she just has to hang in there and keep the faith...with alot of chemo and radiation...she can probably beat it...i don't know where she lives but in NC...my dads doctor was Kamran Guadarzi....he is really good...in fact...my dad had to get a colostomy bag put on early in...but when he got rid of the cancer..they were able to reconnect him to using his own bowels....just one thing though...even when someone beats colon cancer...they battle it all their life afterward because of the effects that do happen (eg. a colostomy bag and inability to control bowels)
