I'm going to sit on the fence with this choice and say they're both as good as one another. What you need to do if you're thinking about purchasing either LCD or Plasma TV, is weigh-up the pro's and con's of each. LCD TV's are marginally cheaper and tend to last longer so I believe, but Plasma has better picture quality and more versatile.
Personally I'd choose a Plasma TV

Picture quality (at least right now) Plasma is better. Everything else, (price, lifetime, energy consumption, selection) LCD is better. Plasma tv's are energy hogs. The take a supurising huge amount of energy to operate and they don't last as long.
DLP will replace both in the near future but for now your best choice is LCD.

LCD. Many companies (inc the BIG ones) stopped producing Plasma screens a while ago because of the superiority of LCD.

Watch it with those LCD screens. They may look fantastic when viewed "square on" from the front, but if you are sitting to the side at an angle ( as so many of us do) the picture quality is hellish.
Make sure you check out the peripheral picture quality before buying one. Plasma's bettre anyway, but so expensive.
Besides everyone's watching less and less televison. Why spend a lot of money on it?

this could be a complicated question by way of fact of diverse technologies used. There are a lot of superb articles on line in case you prefer to examine each and every of the technical ameliorations, yet this is a precis. you will discover 3 substantial styles of TVs out contained obtainable: Plasma vs. lcd vs. LED Plasmas have genuine black colour, widest viewing perspective and the main dazzling colorings. So plasmas are good for viewing video clips in a room with low easy at evening. yet they get extremely warm, use extremely some electricy, and can burn out extremely quickly interior some years, so which you should replace them quicker. by way of fact of its means and value non-effeciency, plasmas at the instant are not a terrific investment. classic cathode LCDs, have a relentless backlight, meaning even black colorings would be lit up, so LCDs are extra perfect in vivid rooms interior the day. they are superb in case you have a interest console linked and enjoying video games on it. LEDs are the latest variety of TVs. they are extremely a style of lcd utilising similiar technologies yet a diverse variety of backlight, so which you get a similar photograph high quality of a plasma without the burn in and utilising much less electrical energy too. LEDs are a style of lcd reveal screen, so it may even say LED lcd on the field, so while paying for TVs, in case you prefer an LED, be useful it says LED and not purely lcd. you would understand by way of fact they are lots extra high priced than the classic lcd or plasma. in case you are able to discover the money for it, LED lcd, not classic lcd, supply the superb high quality.

Plasmas have a tendency to burn an image in when used for games or computer, LCDs can lose pixels and sometimes do that for a whole line, which then stay dark permanently.
The type to look at is DLP. They have the very best picture and none of the above problems.
