Yet another interesting class discussion......This time we discussed Maslow...who in my opinion, seemed to live a very miserable life from childhood, and throughout adulthood. Anyway, i've always been curious to know why everything is always blamed on the mother?

oYE... Blaming everything on the mother is so Freudian... YUCK.. NOW.. that man was crazy! Anywho... I have learned in psychology that there are many factors involved in raising a decent human being... And while many have to do with the mother, just as much has to do with the father, step parents, grandparents, religion, culture, the education, the parents lifestyle, siblings, and much more. I like the old saying that it takes a village to raise a child, because in all honesty, it does. It takes MANY people to help raise a child and any involvement with that child will affect their behavior. Its so much more than because the mother never had a male child, she suffers from penus envy and therefore any children she bares will suffer from that as well... Thats ridiculous. hope this helps.

Well, everyone seems to like blaming others for their own problems.
But there comes a time in ones life that they MUST accept responsibility for their own actions.
The mother seems the best one to blame probably in part because (maybe) she is to blame for some things, but also I think all people know that their moms will take it, just like all the crap moms "take" through-out the years of being the MOM.

It gets blamed on the mother because the theorist is a man who has never had the experience of being a mother himself.
